- Feedback: shratika.naidu@fijisun.com.fj SHRATIKA NAIDU

Labasa Airport is due to re-open on

August 5.

Fiji Airports had to close the airport from July 13 to August 4 to allow runway upgrade and maintenance works.

Fiji Airports confirmed that the work is being carried out on schedule without any problem.

Works underway

Although services would resume from next Wednesday, the airport’s apron upgrade works will continue until September.

Fiji Airports initially scheduled the airport closure for April, however the coronavirus (COVID-19) inter-island travel restrictions affected that decision.

Alternative route

Fiji Airports apologised for the inconvenience.

Meanwhile, during the three weeks of closure, people have been travelling through Savusavu Airport, to and from Nausori Airport.
