The Nadogo Central College Principal, Mohammad Saiyaz Khan, has donated 6000 dignity packs to the women of Dogotuki District.

During a talanoa session, Mr Khan said the ladies spoke about their problems, and he decided to respond immediately to their needs. Mr Khan said women play a vital role in society. “Women from four villages - Vitina, Rauriko, Namako and Naiyaroyaro - were present,” he said.

“We also do social work after school hours and this wouldn’t have been successful without the support of various organisations.” Mr Khan said he also donated toothpaste, toothbrush, bathing and washing soap and groceries to the poor and needy families.

He has given his assurance to continue to carry out social work after school hours.

“I also assist the families who are unable to send their children to school,” Mr Khan said.

Mr Khan said sanitary items were often one of the first necessities women needed when arriving in remote rural communities.

He thanked Andrew Reddy of Leadership Fiji, the Rotary Club of Tenterfields Australia and Chands Wholesalers & Retailers for the assistance.
