Sheila Hicks Picks Up the Threads
Her work featured in early 2014 in the Decorum show at the Musée d’Art Moderne de la Ville de Paris, and last fall at the Frank Elbaz gallery. One of her monumental works, is currently on display at the Palais de Tokyo (since April 25, 2014). This piece serves as a focus for meeting and discussion. Sheila Hicks has been working with textiles and threads since the mid-1960s, but she is being “rediscovered” by the world of contemporary art. In this interview she looks back over her career on the border between visual and decorative art.
