South Korean contemporary art: nothing will ever be the same again

Art Press - - RENCONTRE -

With Jin-sang Yoo, a young critic who works a great deal with France, and who coordinated this section with the kind support of Korea Arts Management Service (KAMS) in Seoul, we decided to limit our scope to the France-Korea year that is currently under way, without attempting to look more widely at the Korean scene in general. This, indeed, is already quite well known in the West, notably for its monochrome abstraction. Here, then, we consider the country’s new map of alernative exhibition spaces and the work of its young artists, some already known, others about to be discovered.
