In Bourg Tour the ancient village of Bourg

Bordeaux Wine Trip - - Bordeaux Wine Routes -

Go to the Bourg Tourist Office to collect your audio-guide and rent an electrical bike (practical for roaming the territory effortlessly). Good to know: guide maps in braille are also available. The tour starts in the upper town where you will find the Château de la Citadelle (and its “Age of Carriages” Museum, the Moorish villa and many art galleries. Next, head to the lower town, featuring a covered public wash-house from 1828 and 18th-century houses, before arriving at the Maison des Vins des Côtes de Bourg (presence of wine-growers with themed tastings such as “Wine, Truffles and Chocolate” gourmets take note!).

Route de la Corniche Fleurie by bicycle

From Bourg, take the D669-E1, the so-called “Route de la Corniche Fleurie”, which follows the coast of the Gironde Estuary. This charming itinerary reveals carrelet huts (traditional fishing nets of the Gironde Estuary), numerous troglodyte homes nestled in the limestone cliffs and incredible gardens where oleanders, palm trees and banana trees thrive.
