Sells "Snow Queen" to a num­ber of ter­ri­to­ries

WIZART AN­I­MA­TION, one of the lead­ing an­i­ma­tion stu­dios in Rus­sia, has closed new deals dur­ing the Marché du Film. The third in­stall­ment of the fran­chise The Snow Queen 3: Fire and Ice (2016), an­nounced at the open­ing of the Marché du Film, has sold to Shoot­ing Stars for coun­tries in the Mid­dle East, where the movie will have day-and-date re­lease in 2016; all rights for Baltic States have sold to ACME Film; and all rights for Turkey to Medyav­izyon. Cinema Repub­lic has ac­quired all rights in­clud­ing the­atri­cal, for South Kore­aand the film has also sold to Mid­dle East, Baltic States, Turkey. Sheep and Wolves (2016) the­atri­cal rights have sold to Bul­garia and Baltic States; and Urfin and His Wooden Sol­diers (2016) has sold to South Korea and Baltic States. Wizart’s projects were pre­sented at the Rus­sian Cinema stand, or­gan­ised by Cinema Fund of Rus­sia. Both in­stall­ments of The Snow Queen fran­chise have al­ready been re­leased in more than 80 ter­ri­to­ries. Ear­lier at the Marché du Film all rights for The Snow Queen (2012) and The Snow Queen II (2014) were ac­quired by Bar­ton Films for Spain and by Bol­ly­wood Films for Pak­istan – mark­ing the first time that a Rus­sian will be re­leased the­atri­cally in Pak­istan. Ac­cord­ing to Joe Mirza CEO of Bol­ly­wood Films: “Th­ese films are of a very high stan­dard and they can com­pete with any of the other prod­uct in the mar­ket at the mo­ment.” This year The Snow Queen 2 will also en­joy re­lease in the US, with all rights ac­quired by En­ter­tain­ment One; the Benelux coun­tries, with all rights ac­quired by Just4kids; the Czech Repub­lic and Slo­vakia (all with all rights ac­quired by ITA Film. The film will also be re­leased in France, Ger­many, Brazil, China, Ja­pan, Malaysia, Bul­garia, In­done­sia and Thai­land.
