Cannes wel­comes the third Blood Win­dow screen­ings

THE THIRD Edi­tion of the Blood Win­dow gala screen­ings takes place at the Marché du Film from May 13 to 17. Movies are be­ing pre­sented by rep­re­sen­ta­tives from a num­ber of gen­re­based film fes­ti­vals in the world, in­clud­ing: Sit­ges, the In­ter­na­tional Fan­tas­tic Film Fes­ti­val, Cat­alo­nia; Mór­bido, The In­ter­na­tional Hor­ror and Fan­tasy Film Fes­ti­val, Mex­ico; Nifff, the Neuchâ­tel In­ter­na­tional Fan­tas­tic Film Fes­ti­val, Switzer­land; the Fright­fest Film Fes­ti­val, Lon­don; and Bifff, The Brus­sels In­ter­na­tional Fan­tas­tic Film Fes­ti­val. The se­lec­tion in­cludes many sub­gen­res in­clud­ing Thriller, Hor­ror and Sci-fi. This year’s galas fea­ture two se­lected films from Ar­gentina: Be­navidez´s by Laura Casabe, and by Se­bastián and Fed­erico Rot­stein; two from Chile: by Pa­tri­cio Val­ladares, and by Jorge Riquelme Ser­rano; and two from Méx­ico, by Emil­iano Rocha Min­ter, and by Isaac Ezban. The films’ directors, ac­tors, pro­duc­ers will be present at the screen­ings, along with rep­re­sen­ta­tives from the re­spec­tive lo­cal film in­dus­tries. The gala screen­ings will be pre­ceded by the pre­miere of the Mex­i­can short film di­rected by Alonso Valdez and Raúl Ter­riquez, win­ner of the short film con­test Día de muer­tos, or­gan­ised by Blood­win­dow TV. Blood Win­dow is a Latin Amer­i­can Fan­tasy Film Mar­ket held dur­ing the Ven­tana Sur Latin Amer­i­can film mar­ket, cre­ated in 2009 by In­caa and the Marché du Film/fes­ti­val de Cannes with the sup­port of Cre­ative Europe, part of the Euro­pean Com­mis­sion. Blood Win­dow high­lights films in the hor­ror, sci-fi, ac­tion, dark com­edy, thriller gen­res and pro­vides ac­tiv­i­ties for projects in devel­op­ment and at the post­pro­duc­tion stage, to distrib­u­tors, sales agents, pro­gram­mers and in­ter­na­tional fes­ti­val directors.
