Designed to broaden the international audience for Russian film, the festival also aims to stimulate collaboration and co-ordination between Russia and British and European filmmakers. Directors, screenwriters, actors, editors, and composers will also receive international recognition through a series of competitions and awards. Its Irida Statuette is the highest award given to winners in the competitions and all Irida winners will go on to participate at the Raindance Film Festival in London. President and founder of Siff is film producer, screenwriter and author Dr. Luba Balagova. Artistic director and president of the Selection Committee is author and film director Mohy Quandour. The festival will be held annually from December 10 to 16 at the Sochi Radisson Blu Paradise Resort & Spa.
