VERTICAL GARDEN OF VINET SQUARE
This green wall was designed as a true vegetal tapestry by the botanic artist Patrick Blanc. It rests on a metallic structure covered by PVC and is equipped with polyamide felt and root pockets which allow the plants to develop without a natural substrate. Church revised by Jean Jules Mondet (1879-1882).
10 ÉGLISE SAINT-PIERRE
This building stands on the site of the former harbour of the Roman castra. Its oldest elements, including the beautiful carved gate, date from the 14th and 15th century. This church was reconstructed in the 19th century keeping some elements of the medieval church. Place Saint-pierre - A > Place du Palais
11 PORTE CAILHAU
Built between 1493 and 1496 on the site of an ancient defensive gate, this gatehouse honoured King Charles VIII’S conquest of the Kingodm of Naples. On the side facing the river, a niche with his effigy commemorates his victories in the build up to the Battle of Fornovo (1495). While undoubtedly a military edifice, equipped with a portcullis and wide machicolations, the forthcoming Renaissance period brought with it a new architectural language of mullioned windows and freestone carvings.a twenty-three metre high panoramic view of the river.
