“To my mother.” If Hedi Slimane usually takes inspiration from an abstract muse (the bourgeois Parisienne of the 70’s), this season he reveals an intimate key to his own personal mythology. A perfectionist, he fine tunes his silhouettes to the smallest detail: a sheath dress as richly adorned as an Orthodox icon, rich variations of silk embroideries and floral cascades on a black backdrop. Or magnificent embroideries as counterpoint on more casual denim + soft blouse looks. Slimane is a master at making the seventies speak to and about the now, in 2020-2021.
