You launched the brand Margherita on in March 2015. When did you de­cide to team up on this lat­est col­lab­o­ra­tion? — This new project – a very spe­cial one – emerged quite nat­u­rally. Yoox and I have en­joyed a close col­lab­o­ra­tion for years. Hence the launch of my col­lec­tion Margherita Kids ex­clu­sively on their web­site. This col­lec­tion of py­ja­mas is called “Mummy and Me”. What was the idea be­hind it? — I drew my in­spi­ra­tion from mixed mod­els that can be worn in any sea­son, even dur­ing the day, and not only at bed­time. I chose nat­u­ral fab­rics: cot­tons, jer­seys, suit­able for chil­dren’s sen­si­tive skin, and soft enough to feel as if they are wrapped up in a co­coon. Is it re­ally a range that can be worn round the clock? — I’ve al­ways imag­ined be­ing with my chil­dren round the clock, from the time they wake up to the time they go to bed, and I liked the idea of de­sign­ing py­ja­mas for moth­ers iden­ti­cal to those worn by their chil­dren. The cot­ton jersey py­ja­mas are ideal for wear­ing on a longdis­tance flight or af­ter the end-of-the-year gas­tro­nomic marathon… The cot­ton gauze tu­nic, an­other of my favourite de­signs, can be worn over a swim­suit for a stylish day at the beach. For dressier oc­ca­sions, I adore wear­ing the pair of cot­ton py­ja­mas, with chunky ear­rings and be­jew­elled san­dals.
