Luise Vindhal and David Frenkiel, the globetrotting food lovers behind the cookery blog Green Kitchen Stories, travel the world with their three children. Always on the lookout for new vegetarian experiences, here they share three of the delicious recipes
Swedish-born David writes the recipes and photographs the resultant dishes. Luise, who’s from Denmark, is a nutritional therapist. Both now live in Stockholm, but they met... in Italy! Together they have travelled through over fifteen countries in four years, with their young daughter, Elsa, who was only three months old when they began their adventure. They have since added a son and another daughter to the family. Their latest destination was South Africa, from which they have just returned, their heads full of memories. They’ve also come home with lots of new food ideas, which they’ll no doubt soon put into practice. What’s their working method? Proposing simple recipes, based on healthy, natural ingredients (“good” fats, natural sugars, whole grains, vegetables…), most of which are vegan and gluten-free. Their books so far include The Green Kitchen: Delicious and Healthy Vegetarian Recipes for Every Day (2013); Green Kitchen Travels (2014); Green Kitchen Smoothies (2016) and Green Kitchen at Home (2017). And with 330,000 followers on Instagram, their recipes are definitely extremely popular. For MilK, they have kindly agreed to share three of them with readers, all bursting with vitality and chosen from their cookery-cum-travel journals. Who wants a vitamin-packed pick-me-up?
