A sense of balance… Our magazine has always sought to make the best suggestions for our children in words and images and this still holds true at the start of the new school year: children’s fashions as original as ever fill our pages, but this is not what attracts my attention today. Finding what is best for our offspring… having consistently kept us/you updated about the choicest options, it is now time to restore the balance to our parent-child relationships. Educational psychologists point the finger at parents who are constantly trying to ensure their children’s happiness. Their habit of hovering around them even has a name: “helicopter parents”. However, we should not succumb to the temptation of always wanting to give the best of ourselves in the hope that our children become the crème de la crème. Parenting isn’t something that we work hard at, expecting to get a return on our investment… This issue of proposes ways of establishing the right balance – fairly, poetically, goodhumouredly! It is up to you to find the correct dose of involvement to help raise a generation of compassionate, sensitive human beings. MilK Isis-Colombe Combréas
