The American magazine "Saveur" unveiled the 2015 winners of its Good Taste
Awards, an annual event on the culinary calendar. The "World’s Best Food City" award went to Tokyo, the city with the most Michelin stars, but the real surprise was Berlin, which was named "New Vegetarian Capital". According to the jury responsible for selecting the winner, the German city has become "the first European city to see the creativity of vegetarian restaurants equal, and at times surpass, that of traditional restaurants." Berlin currently boasts over 30 vegetarian restaurants, the majority of which serve gluten-free fare cooked
with local, organic ingredients.
