LE CORBUSIER ADDED TO WORLD HERITAGE LIST

The Pullman Magazine - - Places And People To Love -

He dared new shapes and the boldest of constructions; famously white villas for public housing and other stunning social and cultural architecture. Who does not know at least one work by Le Corbusier? After two failed attempts, the visionary work of the celebrated urbanistarchitect is from July 2016 the first transcontinental serial property to be appointed World Humanity Heritage by UNESCO. The 17 sites are spread over 7 countries and include the villas La Roche and Jeanneret (1923) in Paris, the Weissenhof Estate (1927) in Stuttgart, the Cité Radieuse (1945) in Marseille, and the Chandigarh Capitol Complex (1952) north of New Delhi. The appointment attests Le Corbusier's exceptional contribution to the Modern Movement.
