Winemaker’s Voice
Director of Château Loudenne (Bordeaux, France)
“The pleasure of making wine and aging it, gradually transforming this grape juice into nectar.”
PLEASURE ! Multiple pleasures. The pleasure of walking through the vineyards and seeing the grapes appear and develop every day, every week, every month until they are fully ripe. It’s a pleasure to walk in the magical nature in Loudenne and to feel the true meaning of our environmental approach and conversion to organic farming. Pleasure of the harvest, the smells of the cellar during the vinification and sharing of this passion with the teams. The pleasure of constantly experimenting and learning to improve its know-how, in the end, making a good wine turns out to be complex. It’s a pleasure to present it, to make it discovered and to sell it by traveling around the world or by receiving in Loudenne Japanese, Americans, Canadians, Russians, Chinese, Europeans and of course French. The pleasure of drinking your wine or that of others and sharing it, in moderation but sometimes also without. The pleasure of rediscovering new flavors every time. Rare pleasure of a perfect marriage between wine and dishes that sublimates both. Pleasure, pleasure, pleasure ... Of course after 35 years of work, there were difficult moments, but thanks to all these renewed pleasures, passion always prevails. I realize how lucky I am to work for a product whose very essence is sharing and conviviality.
