Miss Wheelchair World
A Polish organisation has held the first international beauty pageant for women in wheelchairs in an effort to change social perceptions about people with disabilities. Aleksandra Chichikova, a 23 year-old student from Belarus, has been crowned the first ever Miss Wheelchair World. “Fight your anxiety and your fears,” the winner said at the contest gala. The competition took place in Warsaw and involved 24 female contestants from 19 different countries. The “Miss Smile” title went to Nadjet Meskine from France and “Miss Kindness” to Vahen King from Canada.
