Marriage poll

Vocable (Anglais) - - À 360° -

In Romania, a referendum on amending the constitution to define marriage as explicitly between a man and woman and therefore exclude same-sex unions has been voided following a very low turnout. Only 20% of registered voters went to cast their ballot for this referendum whereas a 30% turnout was needed for the result to be valid. Although same-sex couples are already not allowed by law to marry, this amendment to the constitution would have made it nearly impossible for them to win the right to marry in future.
