Little is known for the moment about Lazarus, the musical David Bowie has promised to stage on Broadway this winter. There is one thing that’s certain, though: Bowie, who hasn’t been seen on stage for ten years since his heart attack, will not be starring in the production, inspired by The Man who fell to Earth, Nicholas Roeg’s 1976 film in which he played the extraterrestrial Thomas Newton. Michael C. Hall ( Six Feet Under and Dexter ) will take over the role in the show under leading Belgian director Ivo van Hove. Bowie has been working on the project for several years, and has written a number of new songs especially for it. From November 2015 to January 2016 at the New York Theater Workshop, www.nytw.org
