Tangled

Where Paris - - Art & Attractions -

The Maison Rouge-Fondation Antoine de Galbert is presenting an intriguing exhibition bringing together Outsider Art, ritual African objects, works of sacred art, and contemporary and modern works whose common theme is entanglement. The show, entitled Inextricabilia, brings together works by 50 different artists from a host of countries, horizons and epochs but which use similar techniques, materials and creative processes. Whether they are vegetal, organic or metallic, the assembled fibres are all ingeniously intertwined, knotted by force, held together in tangles that are inextricable. The highly symbolic objects are coupled with deep spiritual properties deploying therapeutic, prophylactic, talismanic or apotropaic virtues, exorcising, liberating, healing, protecting or conjuring up evil, but above all they astound. Through to September 17 10 blvd de la Bastille (12th), 01 40 01 08 81
