Where Paris - - Dining -

Looking for a memorable place for a meal near the Gare du Nord and the Gare de l’Est? Head to Yikou, a stylish restaurant for a feast of imaginative Franco-Asian dishes created by a Frenchman and a Chinese man who share a reciprocal love for the cooking of one another’s countries. This light, delicious food fascinates by using French ingredients in Chinese preparations like dim sum or bao (steamed rice buns), which are here used for sandwiches served with a garnish of delicious frites made from rice instead of potatoes. Among the stand- out dim sum are the Lao Breizh, a succulent ravioli stuffed with lobster, seitan (wheat protein) and seaweed, the Babao Truffes, which is filled with free-range chicken water chestnuts and black truffle oil from the Perigord, and the Chasu Forestier, an earthy bao filled with stewed wild boar garnished with rice wine and cranberries. For dessert try the Madame Sago, dim sum filled with coconut cream seasoned with crushed Speculoos (Belgian spice cookies). – A.L
