French Comfort Food

Where Paris - - Dining -

Looking for a lively but easy-going and excellent casual French meal in the Marais? Head for chef Tsuyoshi Miyakazi’s cosy little restaurant with whitewashed stonewalls, low lighting and both table and bar seating. It’s been one of the most popular tables in the neighbourhood ever since it opened last autumn, and it only takes a single meal to see why. For openers, service directed by amiable co-owner Enguerrand Cantegrel is charming, and there’s a great cocktail list if you want a drink before dinner. Next, the menu is a great roster of beautifully made cosmopolitan comfort food dishes, including tacos filled with squid, avocado and tomato or a salad of roasted beets with raspberries and Gorgonzola, both starters. Next up in the small-plates line-up, try their version of a chicken Caesar salad or the beef filet with burrata, tomato and pesto. Finish up with the tiramisu with chocolate crumble, and note that they pour a great selection of wines by the glass. – A.L. Mr T 38 rue de Saintonge (3rd), 01 42 71 15 34
