Head bar­man Axel Amasse has turned to the world for dif­fer­ent in­spi­ra­tions for his cock­tails for Shake n’ Smash, the cock­tail bar in the very trendy 3rd ar­rondisse­ment. Us­ing dif­fer­ent spir­its and spices from around the world, Amasse’s cock­tail menu is fun to read and very easy to drink. The Cana­dian Lum­ber­jack is a sweet and spicy mix of rye whisky, earl grey tea, maple syrup and gin­ger while the Sa­lut Tu Suze is a re­fresh­ing mix of gin, Suze, lime and Thai basil. The cock­tails can be en­joyed in the main room or in the re­cently opened Cabinet of Cu­riosi­ties with a dé­cor in­spired by the trav­els of Phileas Fogg in Around the World in Eighty Days. The bar is open from Tues­day to Satur­day from 6pm and also or­gan­ises work­shops for 4 to 14 peo­ple so you can learn how to mix your own drinks.
