It is a panorama of fine fashion photography that is on display at the Studio Willy Rizzo where some 50 photographs have been brought together in a show entitled Willy Rizzo, Pure Fashion. The show, which underscores the originality and rigour in the artist’s photographs, brings together pictures from 1947 to the near present. The great iconic shots are all there like Elsa Martinelli for Italian Vogue in 1967, Stephanie Seymour with Azzedine Alaïa in 2001 and the geometric fashions by Courrèges circa 1965. These celebrated pictures are juxtaposed with unknown photographs that have never been shown to the public before like the editorial team at Vogue or the great designer Jacques Fath at his home in Maisons-Laffitte. The show is an ode to fashion and the master photographer who knew how to capture it for eternity. - P.V.
