The Fraun­ho­fer In­sti­tu­te esti­ma­tes the shift to cost €1.1. tril­li­on. Ot­her esti­ma­tes are sub­stan­ti­al­ly hig­her.

The aver­a­ge Ger­man hou­se­hold has paid €4,700 to sub­si­di­ze wind and so­lar ener­gy sin­ce 2000.
