Fillinglling In The Shadows

Where Berlin - - MUSEUMS AND GALLERIES -

Urban ruins have a beauty and a life of their own when seen from a certain perspective. American photographer Will McBride was in his twenties when he moved to Berlin and was met with an exciting and exceptional city, teeming with life and creativity hidden under the piles of rubble and fuelled by the burgeoning economic revival of the postwar era. This month, the newlyreopened C/O Berlin art center presents a retrospective through the photographer’s work, which captures the contradictions and curiosities of a blooming city, from demonstrations to boat parties, army tanks, and Vespas. Until 18 January. Hardenbergstr. 22-24. www.co-berlin.org
