CATCH A FLICK

Where Berlin - - WINTER WONDERS -

You might not think the English speaker would be spoilt for choice when it comes to cinematic selection in the German capital, but Berlin’s art house and independent cinemas offer many screeings of new and classic films in English. Kino Arsenal (Potsdamer Str. 2, www.arsenal-berlin.de) off Potsdamer Platz has a daily program of quality international works that are often in English or played with English subtitles, and the Deutsche Kinemathek Film and TV Museum at the same address will teach you more about what you’ve just watched. Across town, Friedrichshain’s DDR-era Kino International (Karl-Marx-Allee 33, www.kino-international.com), with its dramatic, retro glass façades, screens both mainstream movies and film festival contenders, as well as a gay and lesbian film series on Mondays.
