From propaganda to reconnaissance to journalism to documentation, photography was put to many uses in the First World War, and developed quickly thereafter. Through original panorama and aerial photographs and picture postcards taken by both official war photographers and amateurs, coupled with the museum’s location as a military hospital during World War I, the Museum of Photography (p. 41) presents the Photography in World War I exhibition this month, giving viewers insight into just how photography was used and modernized during the war.
