The Great Chi­nese Na­tional Cir­cus has been bridg­ing the cul­tural gap be­tween China and Europe for over two decades. Now back in Berlin with a new sea­son and new show, The For­bid­den City is named after the im­pe­rial palace in Beijing his­tor­i­cally known for hav­ing its gates tightly con­trolled by the em­peror. This ac­ro­batic pro­duc­tion gives view­ers a chance for a glimpse inside the famed For­bid­den City and Im­pe­rial Palace through sto­ries of em­per­ors, Con­fu­cius, and con­cu­bines.
