Born in Peru in 1954, Mario Testino is one of the most prolific magazine and fashion photographers in the world. He has shot superstars like Claudia Schiffer and Kate Moss for Vogue, and was the creator of the iconic Vanity Fair pictures of Princess Diana, taken a few months before her death. He has since built a close relationship with the British Royal Family, and recently took the official portraits of Prince William and his wife Kate. For the first time in Europe, the Kunstbibliothek (Matthäikirchplatz) will present his work in the exhibition Mario Testino: In Your Face, showing 125 of his images and placing particular emphasis on its provocative contrasts. Juxtaposing formal portraits with private snapshots, nudes with fashion, and black-and-white with full-blown color, the exhibition explores and celebrates the innovation and diversity of this true artist. Until 26 July. www. smb.museum
