A New Take On Techno

Where Berlin - - ENTERTAINMENT -

With its grand 1820s architecture and sumptuous neoclassical interior, the Konzerthaus on Gendarmenmarkt (p. 49) is the kind of venue where you’d expect to hear the likes of Mozart, not anything from the contemporary world of techno. But on 9 March, the Konzerthaus will host a cool and very creative concert from Brandt Brauer Frick

Ensemble, a groundbreaking Berlin group that brings together the worlds of classical and electronic music. For their shows, electronic musicians Daniel Brandt, Jan Brauer, and Paul Frick take to the stage with a supporting band of classical instrumentalists that includes a violinist, a cellist, a tuba player, and even a harpist. Their sounds are sampled and mixed live into a rhythmic tapestry of beats that might even get people dancing beneath Konzerthaus’s pretty chandeliers.
