An Intergalactic Culinary Adventure

Where Berlin - - DINING -

Berlin’s love affair with Asian fusion cuisine continues unabated, and Mitte’s Roy & Pris is one of the latest additions to this culinary scene. Just a stone’s throw from busy Rosenthaler Platz lies this sleek, chic, ultra-futuristic-looking eatery – named after characters from dystopian sci-fi film Blade Runner – with a menu as colorful in flavors and ingredients as the pink-hued lights on the walls and rainbow lasers on the ceiling. The menu takes inspiration from co- owner Guanfeng Guan’s native China and ties in a wide variety of modern culinary influences, resulting in flavor-filled dishes like octopus salad with tangy rhubarb, finger-licking- good sticky veal ribs, crispy five-spiced quail nuggets, and fresh scallops steamed with Guangzhou-style seasonings. It’s a successful formula Berlin foodies know well from Guan’s other gastronomic ventures, including Kreuzberg’s Long March Canteen and Yumcha Heroes, next-door-neighbor to Roy & Pris and purveyor of trendy dim-sum-style dumplings.
