The European Court of Human Rights has ordered Greece to pay 5,000 euros in damages and 1,500 euros in court costs after finding that former priest Iakovos Yiossakis was not treated fairly before going on trial, when he was convicted of being part of a trial-fixing ring. Yiossakis was jailed last year after spending 17 months in custody. The Strasbourg court found that Greece had not ensured that Yiossakis received a fair trial.
