One suspect an­swers ques­tions, two more to give ev­i­dence to­day

Two peo­ple sus­pected of be­ing in­volved in the deadly fire­bomb at­tack on a branch of Marfin Bank in cen­tral Athens dur­ing an anti-aus­ter­ity rally a year ago are due to give de­po­si­tions to­day. One of the four sus­pects ques­tioned so far gave a state­ment yes­ter­day. The 27-year-old from Kaza­khstan de­nied be­ing in­volved in the at­tack, which led to three bank em­ploy­ees dy­ing of as­phyx­i­a­tion. The fourth suspect re­ceived his case file yes­ter­day and has been given 48 hours to pre­pare his de­fense. He is be­ing ques­tioned in con­nec­tion to the at­tack on the Ianos book­store that took place shortly be­fore the fire­bomb­ing at the bank. Po­lice suspect that the same group of pro­test­ers were in­volved in both raids.
