Foreign Minister Dimitris Droutsas said yesterday that the involvement of European countries including Greece in efforts to help North African and the Middle Eastern states which are experiencing political and social turmoil is not an attempt to “impose a solution” on these nations. “The aim is to bring peace and meaningful stability to the broader region,” Droutsas told an international conference in Sofia about how the Balkans can contribute to development in the Middle East. “We want to encourage economic growth in that region because growth there means growth for us too,” he added.
