Bul­garia’s trans­port min­is­ter has re­signed af­ter draw­ing crit­i­cism for in­suf­fi­cient re­struc­tur­ing of the coun­try’s aging state rail­ways sys­tem. Alexan­der Tsvetkov is the fourth min­is­ter to re­sign from Prime Min­is­ter Boiko Borisov’s cen­ter-right Cabi­net since it came to power in 2009. Tsvetkov said he quit yes­ter­day “for per­sonal rea­sons.” Borisov ac­cepted Tsvetkov’s res­ig­na­tion and named his cur­rent deputy, Ivailo Moskovski, who has been over­see­ing the use of Euro­pean Union fund­ing, to re­place him.
