New deal for McDonald’s
McDonald’s Europe said yesterday it has selected Malta’s Premier Capital to develop its network in Greece in a bid to boost its presence in the country. Premier Capital, which has been operating McDonald’s fastfood restaurants in Malta, Estonia, Lithuania and Latvia since 2005, will operate 19 company-owned McDonald’s restaurants in Greece, with the remaining 11 branches in the country being kept by existing franchisees under current contractual agreements. ‘We are confident that the agreement with Premier Capital will help enhance the McDonald’s brand in Greece, build the business over the long term and further strengthen the relationship with our customers,’ Steve Easterbrook, president of McDonald’s Europe, said in a statement. No financial details were disclosed. Premier Capital, which operates 35 restaurants across four countries, will take ownership and operate the 19-branch network as of June 1, the statement added.
