Had it not been for blue chips OTE telecom and gaming company OPAP, the local bourse’s main index would have posted significant losses yesterday, which were contained to 0.21 percent. The Athens Exchange (ATHEX) general index ended at 1,286.88 points, down from Wednesday’s close at 1,289.63 points. The blue chip FTSE/ATHEX 20 index dropped by 0.42 percent to end at 575.04 points. OTE added 4.79 percent and OPAP gained 2.13 percent, while ATEbank lost 8.51 percent and Alpha Bank shed 4.62 percent. In total, 54 stocks moved up, 75 went down and 53 remained unchanged. Turnover came to 69.8 million euros.
