Two pilots escape unscathed after plane crashes into Aegean
Two Greek air force pilots safely ejected yesterday before their jet crashed off the island of Samos in the southeastern Aegean Sea. The Mirage 2000 fighter jet had been taking part in a military drill along with three more aircraft when its engine lost power shortly before 1.30 p.m. The two pilots, who were not injured, were picked up by a Greek army vessel that was sailing in the area. An investigation was launched to determine the cause of the aircraft’s malfunction.
