Workers assemble parts of a statue of Alexander the Great at the main square in Skopje, capital of the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia. The erection of the 22-meter bronze monument, depicting the ancient leader on his horse, is seen as a sign of Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski’s refusal to back down on the ongoing name dispute with Athens.
