Greece’s consulate in Venice and its embassy in Rome are investigating the vandalism last week of the Greek pavilion at the 54th Venice Biennale, the Greek Culture Ministry said over the weekend. According to reports attributed to the Italian police, unidentified vandals broke into Greece’s pavilion on Wednesday night and spray-painted provocative slogans, in English, on the inside walls such as “For sale” and “A nation of immigrants without a state.” Italian police gave no indication of who the perpetrators might be.
