Minister to meet Biden, Davutoglu
Greek Defense Minister Dimitris Avramopoulos is to hold talks with US Vice President Joe Biden and Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu on the sidelines of an annual security conference in Munich.
Avramopoulos is due to meet Biden for informal talks today in the first contact between Athens and Barack Obama’s administration since the US president’s re-election. The meeting comes a day after United Nations mediator Matthew Nimetz held talks in New York with representatives from Greece and the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia.
Avramopoulos’s talks with Davutoglu tomorrow are expected to focus on the meeting of the Greek-Turkish High-Level Cooperation Council in Ankara on March 5.
