Court says Sakkas did not violate restrictions
Anarchist Costas Sakkas, 30, was yesterday cleared of charges that he violated his restricted residence order. Sakkas, who is accused of being a member of the Conspiracy of the Cells of Fire urban guerrilla group, was arrested on Tuesday. Police said that Sakkas had spent the night at a friend’s house in Neo Psychico, northern Athens, where he was arrested, apparently violating an order that restricted him to spending the night at his family’s residence in Piraeus. An Athens misdemeanors court yesterday ruled that the stay over did not constitute a violation of the orders. Sakkas denies being a member of Conspiracy of the Cells of Fire.
