He­li­copter and 12 jets fly into Greek air space

A Turk­ish he­li­copter and 12 fighter jets, six of which were armed, vi­o­lated Greek air space yes­ter­day, the Na­tional De­fense Gen­eral Staff (GEETHA) said in a state­ment. The AS532 Cougar he­li­copter flew twice over the east­ern Aegean is­land of Samos, GEETHA said. The 12 Turk­ish fighter jets were fly­ing in 10- and two-craft for­ma­tions, and en­tered Greek air space with­out per­mis­sion three times. The Hel­lenic Air Force sent up its own jets to chase them off.
