Busi­ness­man gets ab­duc­tor to re­lease him

Busi­ness­man Mano­lis Karamolegos, 60, was safe yes­ter­day fol­low­ing his ab­duc­tion on Tues­day night af­ter con­vinc­ing one of his kid­nap­pers to free him.

The bak­ery firm owner vis­ited the po­lice precinct in Ker­atea, south­east­ern At­tica, with one of his ab­duc­tors, a Moldovan, less than 24 hours af­ter be­ing stopped near his home in Ger­akas, east­ern At­tica, by four men on mo­tor­cy­cles. The ab­duc­tors wanted 2 mil­lion eu­ros, sources said. But Karamolegos con­vinced one to turn him­self in by say­ing po­lice would trace his cell phone. A sec­ond kid­nap­per, an Al­ba­nian, was found later. The other two were at large last night.
