Athenians will soon be able to lodge a complaint with municipal authorities or pay a parking fine electronically.

In a press conference yesterday, Athens Mayor Giorgos Kaminis unveiled plans for an online service for citizens that will give users access to about 80 municipal facilities. Using a computer or smart phone, citizens will be able to view data on the municipal budget, find out how to get a license for a bar or restaurant and notify authorities of problems such as broken street lamps.

Kaminis said theservice will give citizens more oversight without having to visit any municipal offices.
