Greek bourse chalks up five days of gains

The Athens stock mar­ket posted gains yes­ter­day, in line with most of its in­ter­na­tional peers and stretch­ing its ris­ing streak to five ses­sions on slightly im­proved turnover.

The Athens Ex­change (ATHEX) gen­eral in­dex ended at 962.31 points, adding 0.48 per­cent to Wed­nes­day’s 957.70 points. The large-cap FTSE/ATHEX 25 in­dex ex­panded 0.22 per­cent to 312.93 points, but mid-caps added 1.51 per­cent.

Mo­tor Oil out­per­formed with gains of 6.07 per­cent, ahead of Pi­raeus Port Au­thor­ity’s 4.03 per­cent ad­vance, while Gri­valia Prop­er­ties gave up 2.59 per­cent and Eurobank lost 1.82 per­cent.

In to­tal 73 stocks moved up, 36 came down and 15 stayed put.

Turnover came to 71.6 mil­lion euros, up from Tues­day’s 56.9 mil­lion.
