No progress in FYROM name meeting at UN
United Nationsmediator Matthew Nimetz admitted yesterday that “no progress” was made in the latest round of talks between Greece and the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia (FYROM) aimed at resolving their name dispute.
Nimetz called for “greater flexibility” from both sides after hosting talks between Greek diplomat Adamantios Vassilakis and FYROM negotiator Vasko Naumovski in New York. Nimetz did not submit a new proposal designed to settle the dispute. He said that talks would continue in the next few months.
Vassilakis said that “no new ideas” were put forward during the talks.
