Piraeus nightclub shooting leaves 3 seriously injured
All least 14 people were injured – three seriously – early on Saturday when a gunman opened fire at a nightclub in the Mikrolimano suburb of Piraeus.
The gunman is believed to be an Albanian aged 30 and linked to a string of attacks. Witnesses told police that the man had left the bar and returned a short while later, after 4 a.m., with a Kalashnikov assault rifle. He shouted insults at patrons before opening fire. Fourteen spent shells were found at the scene. A manhunt was underway for the suspect, with sources suggesting that he has carried out at least three other attacks, including a deadly drive-by shooting in central Athens last month.
