> Athens > To Jan­uary 18 The B&M Theocharakis Foun­da­tion is show­cas­ing “Hel­lenic Re­nais­sance: The Ar­chi­tec­ture of Theophil Hansen,” an ex­hi­bi­tion fea­tur­ing orig­i­nal draw­ings, fur­ni­ture, gilded bronze ob­jects and 19th-cen­tury photographs trac­ing the work of the Dan­ish ar­chi­tect who dur­ing his nine-year res­i­dency in Athens de­signed the Ob­ser­va­tory, the Academy, the Na­tional Li­brary and Zappeio Hall, among other mag­nif­i­cent build­ings, all of which high­light his sig­na­ture Hel­lenis­che Re­nais­sance (Hel­lenic Re­nais­sance) style. The show is or­ga­nized in as­so­ci­a­tion with the Academy of Fine Arts in Vi­enna and the Dan­ish Na­tional Art Li­brary, un­der the aus­pices of the Aus­trian and Dan­ish em­bassies, with the Stavros Niar­chos Foun­da­tion as grand donor. Open­ing hours are Mon­days, Tues­days, Wed­nes­days, Fri­days, Satur­days and Sun­days from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Thurs­days from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. The show runs through Jan­uary 18.
